Job Description

Little League® International Legal Internship – Summer 2027 Little League® International of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is seeking two qualified students to join Little League's Legal/Risk Management team for the summer of 2027 reporting to the SVP, Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel. The internship will run from approximately June to August with flexibility in start and end date. The intern will typically follow normal business hours, Monday – Friday and earns $20-22 per hour depending on year in law school. For interns who need to temporarily relocate to the Williamsport area for the summer, Little League provides a $1,500 housing stipend to assist with housing expenses during the internship Acceptance into the internship is contingent on all applicable background checks. The candidate must be a minimum second-year law student or enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school that will have successfully completed their second year when they start the internship. ABOUT LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL Located in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, we are the administrative and operational headquarters for Little League Baseball and Softball, the leading nonprofit youth sports organization with 80+ years of history supporting youth baseball and softball. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEGAL INTERN AT LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL Our internship program provides a hands‑on in‑person learning experience with one of the world's most visible sporting events. It provides behind‑the‑scenes access to the inner workings of the Legal/Risk Management department in a global sports organization. The Legal Intern will work with the SVP, Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel in conducting legal research and analysis across a variety of areas of the law, assist with discovery and litigation support, reviewing and updating policies and procedures, manage and organize legal files, summarize various legal documents, assist generally with preparation for the Little League Baseball World Series, and other daily tasks as assigned. Little League's full‑time summer internship program includes approximately 25 interns working across a variety of departments and functional areas. In addition to their department‑specific responsibilities, all interns participate in an organized curriculum designed to provide a broader understanding of Little League's operations, departments, and overall mission DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: Participates in supervised practical training and provides support to the Legal/Risk Management Department. Drafts, reviews, and analyzes a variety of contracts, letters, and memoranda. Conducts legal research and analysis across a variety of areas of the law including contract, intellectual property, insurance, real estate, employment, marketing, and litigation. Assists with discovery and litigation support. Assists with monitoring and providing protection to our trademarks. Review local league grant applications for health and safety initiatives. Reviews and updates policies and procedures. Assists with preparing reports and presentations related to legal and risk management matters. Summarizes various legal documents, contracts, and agreements. Manages and organizes legal files. Assists with various special projects and administrative tasks. Assists in all aspects of preparation for the 2027 Little League Baseball World Series. Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and codes. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LEGAL INTERN: Applicants must currently be enrolled as a rising 3L student (or above) at an ABA‑accredited law school and be in good standing during the duration of the internship period Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks Analytical Skills Good Communication skills–verbal and written Effective time management skills and ability to work independently Attention to detail Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent research, writing, and communication skills Excellent initiative and project management skills including prioritization and time management Proficiency in conducting online legal research with independent access to Lexis, WestLaw, Bloomberg, or other legal research services. Applicants must have good professional judgment, exercise discretion, and abide by confidentiality expectations. Willingness to live in the Williamsport, PA area during the internship.
